Xiaomi Mi 5c Smartphone Announced With Surge S1,Company’s First In-House SoC

Most of the smartphone maker attending at MWC 2017 in Barcelona to launch their latest flagship , but Xiaomi has decided to go against the flow , and today Xiaomi has announced Xiaomi Mi 5c at it’s own event at National Convention Center in Beijing (China) . This Xiaomi Mi 5c smartphone is the company’s first smartphone comes with Xiaomi Surge S1 SoC chipset processor . It is the upgraded or successor version of last year released Xiaomi Mi 4c.

Design wise , the Xiaomi Mi 5c smartphone has unibody metal design , and Xiaomi said that the Surge S1 chipset is able to intelligently adjust the Mi 5c screen display between 2048 brightness levels to match ambient light levels . Talking about the screen , it sports 5.15-inch Full HD curved glass display from JDI with 1.6mm ultra narrow bezels of a screen resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels with 550 nits brightness , 1500: 1 contrast ratio and 94.4% of the NTSC color gamut to gives amazing experience with visual brightness.

Under the hood , the Xiaomi Mi 5c is powered by company’s first in-house 2.2 GHz Xiaomi Surge S1 64-bit Octa-Core processor which is coupled with Quad-core Mali-T860 GPU . Moving to the storage , it is packaging with 3 GB RAM , 64 GB internal storage capacity to storing more and more stuffs in it . On the software front , it is running on Android v7.1 Nougat operating system based on MIUI 8 out of the box.

As for the optics section , the Xiaomi Mi 5c smartphone is equipped with 12-megapixel rear camera on the back with f/2.2 aperture , LED Flash , 1.25 μm pixel size , 6P lens 27-mm wide angle lens while 8-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture , 27 mm wide-angle lens for taking endless selfies and video chattings with superior Quality. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded in physical home button along with Infrared Sensor as well.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c has Dual nanoSIM card standby with 4G LTE support along with VoLTE . Connectivity options on this Xiaomi Mi 5c smartphone are as WiFi 802.11 ac dual-band , Bluetooth v4.1 , GPS with A-GPS , USB Type-C , 3.5 mm headphone jack , FM Radio , 4G VoLTE support . To juice up your device , it houses a 2,860 mAH battery capacity with 9V/2A fast charging support for full day battery life performance.

The physical measurement of Xiaomi Mi 5c Smartphone be 144.38 x 69.68 x7.09 mm and weighes be 135 Grams . It comes in Gold , Rose Gold and Black Color options and is priced at Yuan 1499 (approx USD$ 218/Rs. 14,560) . The selling of this Xiaomi Mi 5c will go on floor in China starting from March 3rd this year.
